Under the Tuscan Sun
We had the pleasure of attending a beautiful wedding in Tuscany, Italy and started off our holiday flying into Pisa and taking the train over to Florence. We spent a short time in each city, making sure to see the leaning tower of Pisa and Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore. There were so many small art vendors near the Cathedral where we were able to get a small watercolor painting for our home!
After lunch we made our way South to the estate where the entire wedding stayed. Castello di Bibbione, is a beautiful farmohuse situated in the heart of the Chianti region, an unforgettable destination not to be missed. Immersed in the greenery thanks to its position, it dominates the Chianti hills panorama of rare beauty and harmony. All apartments are decorated in a rustic style with all modern comforts, beautiful outdoors, a stunning swimming pool, and also a Wellness Centre.
We shared a stunning 2 bedroom villa with another couple, it was nestled within the trees and hills and a short walk to the pool over looking the Tuscan countryside. It was a beautiful weekend filled of love, dancing to ABBA and laughter.
Day two of the wedding was at a property next door at Frattoria La Loggia which is in the heart of Chianti Classico, a historic estate from 1427, where history, nature, and art intertwine. Fattoria La Loggia retains the charm of the "good old days," where the magical atmosphere of the Renaissance blends with the warmth and tranquility of the countryside and its rural traditions. An authentic retreat for a refined and exclusive stay.
We enjoyed the pool, gelato and fresh wine while dancing to an Irish band that the couple flew over from Ireland. They did not disappoint and it was such a fun night!
After the wedding weekend we had one more day to enjoy in Italy before heading back to Ireland so we made are way closer to the airport to stay at Grotta Giusti Thermal Spa Resort. A quiet and peaceful resort with plenty of different pools and caves to explore!
